Circa 1900 Edwardian Sheraton revival mahogany drinks cabinet, a wonderfully clever piece of period engineering. Raised on slender tapering legs with gently swept feet, it is finely lined with satinwood and boxwood stringing, and the split top is crossbanded in satinwood.
Made as a combination drinks and smoker’s cabinet, it opens to reveal a fitted, lined interior beneath the locking top flaps. A concealed button then releases the front, and an offset panel swivels to present a mirrored back carrying a fitted decanter and glass stand. A pull-out section section on the top opens to reveal a further hidden storage well.
The mahogany has lovely colour and is in excellent condition, and the cabinet comes with its original key and apparently original glassware. A charming and unusual piece, equally at home as a compact home bar, a drinks cabinet or a side table.
