A handsome Victorian writing desk in Australian cedar, c.1860–1880, green leather writing surface with gilt-tooled scrolling border. This antique writing table has a moulded top edge with gently canted corners, above a frieze fitted with two drawers to the front, each with turned timber knobs. Raised on well-turned baluster legs terminating in ring-turned feet — a strong, confident form typical of the period. A practical and decorative antique desk, equally suited to a study, home office, or occasional writing table.
