A fine Georgian mahogany tilt-top tripod table, Circa 1780, the circular top with a well-figured single board and a shaped pie crust edge carved with a scalloped, dished rim. The top tilts and revolves on its original birdcage mechanism, above a turned and ring-moulded baluster column terminating in a tripod base of shaped cabriole legs with pad feet. Excellent quality of timber and carving, in good original condition commensurate with age, with a warm, well-maintained patina throughout.
