A fine 19th century Australian chest of drawers in full cedar — solid cedar throughout, carcass and drawer linings included. Classic colonial two-over-two configuration, with two short drawers above two long graduated drawers. Rich, warm patina developed over more than a century of use, turned bun feet, a moulded top edge, and turned timber knob handles. Brass keyhole escutcheons remain to all four drawers.
In fine original condition commensurate with age, with a warm untouched patina to the timber. Drawers run smoothly. Lovely rich colour with excellent grain throughout.
