George III Mahogany Chest on Chest

A substantial antique Georgian mahogany chest on chest or tallboy dating to c. 1780-1810. Constructed in two sections, it features richly figured mahogany throughout, the drawer fronts displaying beautiful swirling grain and a warm, mellow patina.

The upper section offers an arrangement of two short over three long drawers, framed by reeded, canted corners. The lower section has three full width drawers, and stands on bracket feet. The drawers are oak lined and retain their original cast bronze swan neck handles with brass backplates.

In very good condition, with a beautiful faded mellow patina, this chest is both handsome and practical, providing excellent storage.
