19th Century Collector’s Cabinet
A rare likely Australian late 19th century collector's cabinet with a solid cedar top displaying a warm, mellow patina, the cabinet is complemented by richly toned satin walnut to the doors and sides.
The interior is fitted with a bank of seven finely graduated drawers, each with turned timber knobs and running smoothly - ideal for housing small collectibles such as specimens, jewellery, coins, shells or similar. Above sits a cleverly concealed hidden drawer, offering additional storage.
The twin panelled doors enclose the drawers neatly, while raised on a plinth base, giving it a restrained, architectural presence.
In good overall condition with signs of age and use, and a very nice mellow patina. A versatile and sought after piece of antique furniture, offering both practical storage and visual appeal in equal measure.
